Thirteen million American kids are bullied every year. 160,000 kids miss a day of school because they’re scared of being bullied or attacked. 71% of students saying bullying is a problem at their school. LGBTQ youth are more likely to be bullied than their heterosexual counterparts. Fifty percent, one of every two, HALF of all students report being bullied online. Sometimes, bullying can be deadly; revenge is often cited as a motive for school shootings, and studies show new links between being bullied and suicide. Sometimes written off as “kids being kids,” bullying can be a serious problem. Aija Mayrock wants to do something about it.
